In Liz's words:
First we started with caterpillars. Mrs. Sterling put them on our desks on a paper towel but Mrs. Jungwirth wouldn't touch them because she doesn't like creepy stuff. Then Mrs. Sterling gave us some yucky peanut butter stuff and we put it in a little cup and then put our caterpillar in there to let them eat and get fat. Then they got all warm and started building their cocoon and their cocoons stuck to the lids of the cups. After they were all cocoon-ed, Mrs. Windsor came over (because Mrs. Jungwirth doesn't like creepy stuff or sticky stuff) and hung the lids from the side of the butterfly net house with tape. Then they fell on the bottom and started hatching. They just wiggled a lot to get out of their cocoon and when they came out they were butterflies. They exercised their wings for a couple days and then they all started flying around. So we let them go outside.
